Update 07/13/2020

Per Governor Newsom's guidelines issued today, the church building will be closed again, with no reopening date given.  Governor Newsom has required places of worship to close indoor operations in 30 counties and Monterey County is one of them.  We will return to the Sunday Service via Facebook Live streaming Sunday's at 11:00 AM.  A rebroadcast of the sermon will be available at both our Facebook page and our church YouTube channel.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact the church via phone, text or email.  Thank you for your continued understanding during this unusual time.

Update 06/17/2020

The church building will be reopening for Sunday Service on June 21, 2020 at 10:45 AM.  Please note the new start time.  To comply with recommended social distancing requirements the following steps have been taken.

• Limit attendance to 25% of a building's capacity - which is 68 attendees

• Staff, volunteers and congregants are strongly recommended to wear face masks when in the vicinity of others

• Congregants should be screened for temperature and other symptoms.  If you are not feeling well, please remain home and watch the service on line.

• Offering plates will not be passed around between worshipers, offerings can be left on the secretary's desk after service.

• High traffic areas, like pews and lobbies, will be frequently disinfected

• Service will be shortened to minimize the amount of time people are congregated together

• Seating and podium areas will be rearranged to allow for 6 feet of space between people

• Kitchen will be temporarily closed, there will be no coffee or tea available.

We are eager to gather together again, but we want to keep everyone safe and healthy.  Out of love for one another, please keep 6 feet apart and no hugs or handshaking for now.

Again, thank you all for your prayers and patients as we have gone through this process and are now re-opening for in person Sunday services.

Update 05/23/2020

Friday, May 22, the President made a statement that churches and places of worship are "essential" and encouraged states to begin allowing churches to start meeting again.

We couldn't agree more that houses of worship are essential! We miss meeting together and can't wait to get back.  Please know church leaders are having conversations about what returning to our church building will look like. We are committed to doing things safely and well!

Please keep church leadership in your prayers, as there are many things to consider as we make preparations for an eventual return.  Thank you for your patience and prayers.

Update 04/27/2020

A reminder that at the end of Sunday's live streamed service (May 3rd) we will take communion together.  We invite you to prepare elements as we did on April 5th.  Also, last week (April 23rd) we had our first virtual Prayer Meeting via Zoom.  It was wonderful to see everyone, even if it was only on-line.  We will send out invitations for the next on-line Prayer Meeting when we schedule one.

Update 04/02/2020

At the end of this Sunday’s live-streamed service (April 5th) we will take communion together remotely. We invite you to prepare elements which represent the body and blood of Jesus; please use what you have at home, don’t go to the store. It does not need to be special bread or even bread, nor grape juice or wine. Then be ready to eat and drink with you families as a church family. We look forward to again being present with one another. In the meantime, we do the next best thing: we connect remotely.

Update 03/29/2020

We have been live streaming our Sunday service on Facebook Live Sunday's at 11:00 AM.  We are also uploading the same sermon to our new YouTube channel for later viewing.  For now, we will discontinue the audio copies of the sermons.

Update 03/20/2020

We have worked out the technical bugs in the live streaming of our service.  We plan to live stream this Sunday's service at 11:00 AM via Facebook Live.  A copy of the live event will be available at our Facebook site for later viewing.  An audio recording of the service will still be available to those that prefer that media type.  If you have any questions direct them to Bruce via the church email address.

Thank you.

Update: 03/17/2020

In light of Monterey County issuing a shelter in place order, we are suspending any further meetings of our Awana program, Women's Bible Study, Youth Group and Sunday worship service.

County Health officials said the shelter in place will begin at midnight on Wednesday and last until midnight on April 8th.

We are currently looking at options to either live stream Sunday service via Facebook Live or Youtube. As we get the technical aspects of the live streaming worked out, we will notify you of the best way to keep up to date with our Sunday services from the comfort of your home. As usual, audio recordings of the sermons will be available.

In times like this it is very easy to allow the fear to spread faster than the virus itself.  To combat the fear and allow wisdom to rule our hearts and decisions, we must intentionally wrap our minds around what we know to be absolutely true.

"The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
